September 6th Newsletter


     
  Hi Everyone,

I'm so sorry that I missed sending out my newsletter last week, but I'm back now and ready to jump right into September. I hope you all had a safe and fun Labor Day weekend, if you were lucky it was a 3 day weekend. I would like to take a moment, in the spirit of Labor Day which is to thank the workforce, and send out a big THANK YOU to the employees of THE SPEED SHOP for all of the work that you do.

Now, can you believe it....September already...Summer fun is over and the kids are all back to school, that means homework and car pools, science fair projects and fundraisers, where's the F U N??? Let's see if I can at least save your weekends for you, here's a look at some shows coming up in September. On Saturday Sept 8 the Street Rods Forever Car Club presents the 22nd Annual Hot Rods & Customs Car Show in Downtown Historic Monrovia from 9am-3pm. This show is located at the corner of W Colorado Blvd and Myrtle Ave and is open to Pre-1980 cars. On Sunday Sept 9 the Kinfoke Car Club & A-1 Hydraulics presents the 5th Annual Family Day Car Show at 379 W Valley Blvd in Rialto from 10am-4pm. This show is open to Pre-1950's -1990's El Caminos, Motorcycles, Convertibles, Bikes, Trikes, Trucks and Luxury Cars. The show will also feature a "HOP" contests. Over the weekend of Thursday Sept 13 - Sunday Sept 16 is one of the shows I look forward to all year, the 23rd Annual Stater Bros Route 66 Rendezvous in Downtown San Bernardino. Event Schedule this year will be... Thursday 6pm-10pm, and will start with an event kick-off ceremony from 5:30pm-6:30pm and feature Cruisin' and Show & Shine Car Show from 6pm-10pm. Friday 6pm-10pm and will feature Cruisin', Show & Shine and a Neon Lights Cruise, with a Neon Lights Contest from 7pm-9pm. Saturday 10am-9pm will feature Cruisin', Show & Shine, Model Car Contest, Bicycle Stunt Show, an Open Header Cruise from 12pm-6pm and an Open Header Contest from 3pm-5pm. Sunday 10am-4pm and will feature Cruisin', Show & Shine, the Parade of Champions at 11am and a Burnout Contest from 3pm-5pm. On Saturday Sept 15 is the Centennial Car Show at Grace Episcopal Church from 8am-2pm. This show is being put on by the wife of a good friend of THE SPEED SHOP, and is part of Grace Episcopal Church's 100 years Celebration. The show is open to all years and makes (no low riders please). On Sunday Sept 23 is the 16th Annual Mustangs At The Queen Mary in Long Beach presented by Beach Cities Mustang Club and will feature special guest Vaughn Gittin, Jr. Show starts at 10am and will showcase California's premier Muscle Car. I would suggest making a weekend out of this show, hang out at the beach or tour the Queen Mary and check out some of the great resturants down by the ocean on Saturday and on Sunday put on your walking shoes and taking in this awesome show. Now this next show sounds like a lot of fun. On Sunday Sept 30 come out to the Bob's Big Boy Norco Car Show and Concert from 5pm-8pm. Featuring "JB" Joe Bullocks "Memories of Elvis" concert, staring at 6:30pm. I'd also like to suggest this show as a great place to begin if you're looking to get started participating in car shows, and of course a wonderful show that's fun for the whole family. There will be only 2 more shows here after this one before their show season ends, Saturday Oct 27 and Sunday Nov 25, and if you'd like to get more info on participating you can email Charyle at trollady10@aol.com
