October 3rd Newsletter

  Hi Everyone,

How is your October beginnig? It looks like we're in the middle of an "Indian Summer" with these temps, I never thought I'd wish so hard for rain but I am right now. I'd like to thank Charyle for the great pics she sent me from their Sept car show which featured Jim Bullock and his awesome Elvis act. They're on our FACEBOOK page so be sure to check it out at FACEBOOK

If you know someone who you like to start receiving my weekly newsletter just have them go to our website at www.caeperformance.com and fill out the "subscribe" box on the HOME page and they will get put on our list. And if you know of a car show or event and would like me to include it in my newsletter you can email me at caeperformance@aol.com with all the info and I'll get it out there. We've got a pretty busy October for car shows so let's see what we've got coming up this weekend.

On Sunday Oct 7come out to the Irwindale Raceway for the 32nd Annual Truckin'for Kids Truck Drags and Show & Shine. The Car Show begins at 8am with Pick Up Drags at 12, Jr Dragsters at 12:30 and Big Rig Drags at 1pm. General Admission is $15 and includes a Pit Pass, with kids under 12 FREE. Irwindale Raceway is located at 500 Speedway Dr, Irwindale, 91706 and for more info on this event you can go to their website at www.truckinforkids.org On Saturday Night Oct 6 come out for the "Light The Lot" light show and contest there.

Also on Sunday Oct 7 will be the 22nd Annual Veterans Memorial Car Show at Jerry L Pettis Memorial VA Medical Center, 11201 Benton, Loma Linda 92357 from 8am-3:30pm. The show will feature a pancake breakfast and a large variety of food throughout the show, bingo, model car contest, coloring contest and scavenger hunt. KOLA 99.9FM will be there live providing great Rock n Roll music all day. I have gone to this show the last few years and it is a great show for the whole family.

On Wednesday Oct 10 the Twilight Cruise Night at the NHRA Museum in Pomona is back from 4pm-8pm. For more info on their remaining schedule and special events at the museum you can check out their website at www.museum.nhra.com

I would also like to take a moment to look towards the Holiday Season. As some of you know, my son-in-law is a Marine stationed in Twenty-Nine Palms and was recently deployed to Afgahnistan in March of this year and THANK GOODNESS he came home in Sept. But there are still many service men and women who will be far from home for the Holidays and we here at THE SPEED SHOP would like to show our appreciation for their service and their sacrifice with our 2nd Annual Toy Drive. And this year I would also like to broaden that to include non-perishable food items as well. We would like to make sure that these families have filled cupboards as well as gifts under their Christmas trees. Thank you all in advance for your support.
