August 7th Newsletter


     
  Hi Everyone,

How are you all doing? So here we are, August, where has the Summer gone? Vacations are winding down, back-to-school for some is next week, but we still have some great car shows coming up. So between packing up the RV for your next getaway or gassing up the boat for one last trip to the river, or maybe you're staying close to home and focusing on getting the kiddies ready for back-to-school, try and plan to hit a couple of these hot August shows.

Over the weekend of August 11-12 the Big Bear Lake Antique Car Club presents Big Bear Fun Run 2012. The schedule for this event will be, Saturday August 11 is their car show from 10am-3pm and this will commence with a cruise around the lake from 3:45pm-5pm. This would be a great reason to plan a weekend trip to Big Bear and through this show in.For more info on this club you can go to their website at www.antiquecarclub.org Mark your calendar for Wednesday NIghts in August for the Bob's Big Boy Classic "Hot" Car Show in Norco from 5pm-8pm. They're located at 3521 Hamner Ave, Norco. I would recommend this as a great show for anyone looking to get into showing their car, you can contact Charyle via email at trollady01@aol.com

Now for all of you race fans, save this weekend. August 17-19 the 2nd Annual Lucas Oil NMCA West Coast Shootout presented by JE Pistons at the Auto Club Speedway in Pomona. As well as the races there will also be a car show held both Saturday and Sunday, a huge manufacturers Midway, an on site swap meet and last but not least the famous NMCA West Coast renowned burnout contest. On Saturday August 18 is the 18th Annual Mountain Classic Car Show in Wrightwood. The day will kick off at 7am with a pancake breakfast at the Community Center leading into the much anticipated car show from 11am-4pm. This event showcases Pre-1973 American Hot Rods, Customs, Classics, Muscle Cars, and Trucks. As well as this awesome car show you can participate in a Poker Walk where the winner of the best hand could take home $100, an open header contest, Pit Alley where kids and adults can take part in low rider trike races. There are also live bands playing throughout the show and lots of great food and drinks, and while you're there you can do alittle shopping in this cute mountain town. I have attended this show many times and it ranks as one of my favorites throughout the year, so don't miss it. On Saturday August 25 is the 10th Annual Corn Feed Run Car Show & Cruise in Chino from 8am-3pm. This show is located in the lawn area surrounding the Chino City Hall on Central Ave and Chino Ave. The show is open to Pre-1972 Cars, Motorcycles and working show Trucks and will also include an open header contest from 1pm-2pm and great music all day by DJ Gary.
