August 23rd Newsletter

  Hi Everyone,

So if you like the heat you must be lovin' this weather. Me, not so much. I can't wait for the days to cool down and the leaves to start changing. But it's late August now and I wont have much longer to wait. I hope anyway, we could always get the ever popular "Indian Summer". Everybody loves a heatwave in October....NOT!! Let's take a look at what we've got going on this weekend.

On Saturday August 25 is the 10th Annual Corn Feed Run Car Show & Cruise in Chino from 8am-3pm. The show is located at the Chino City Hall grass area on Central Ave and Chino Ave in Olde Towne Chino and is open to all Pre-1972 cars, motorcycles and working show trucks. The show also features an open header contest from 1-2 and includes food and music. For more details on this show check out their website at

Also over the weekend of August 24-26 is the Inland Empire Auto Show at the Ontario Convention Center. Some highlights for the event will be Great Taste Friday and is included in the price of admission. This great event allows attendees to sample food and wine from more than 20 of the Inland Empire's best restaurants and wineries where you will have the opportunity to savor food from Argentina to Zimbabwe and travel the world culinary style. This will take place Friday August 24 from 5pm-8pm. But if you're not adventurous and would like to have something you're more familiar with, then you'll be pleased to hear that back by popular demand...the weekend-long Food Truck Festival, showcasing the unique gourmet menus of some of the best food trucks in Southern California.

Now for those of you who are more interested in what's new in the auto world and want to "get your drive on" then the RIDE & DRIVE portion of the event is for you. Toyota, Chrysler, Volkswagen, Fiat, Jeep, Ram and Dodge will be participating in this year's Ride & Drive program, which gives you the chance to get behind the wheel of today's most exciting new cars and trucks for a test drive on a special driving route near the convention center. Something new to the weekend long event this year is “Get Out & Golf Night” on Saturday August 25 from 3pm–8pm presented by the The Southern California Section of the PGA of America (SCPGA). This special feature will be showcase the latest in interactive driving ranges and putting greens, along with PGA Professionals and staff members on hand to provide a golf lesson for those new to the sport of golf, or a tune up lesson for those who are looking to improve their game. This is incluede with show admission.

And be sure to bring the kiddies and stop into the KID'S ZONE on Family Day Sunday August 26 from 11am-5pm. The Kid's Zone features a complete indoor activity play area with activities ranging from inflatables and face painting to games for all ages, and other fun-filled activities. While you're there be sure to stop by the Make-A-Wish® Orange County and Inland Empire booth to find out how you can help grant the wish of a local child.
