Hi Everyone,
How are you all fairing through this CRAZY weather? I could swear we just started Spring, but by the temperature dial you'd think we were in the middle of Winter. I sure hope we snap out of this soon.
I'd like to start off with an event that I just found out about happening this weekend. The National Jet Boat Association (NJBA) this is America's oldest 1/4 mile drag boat racing organization will hold their Thunder In The Channel 3 event Sat March 26th and Sun March 27th at Lake Elsinore. Gates open at 7am at the Storm Stadium/Lake Elsinore Ski Channel, a 2 day pass $32, Sat $18 and Sun $24. I also just found out about this huge event and didn't want you to miss out, on Sun March 27th Cal -Rods Car Club San Gabriel Valley will hold a huge car show at Santa Anita Race Track from 10:30am - 4pm.
Well we've got some pretty exciting things coming in April, so I thought I'd give you a little preview. We start the month off with a great event put on by the Goodguys Rod & Custom Association, on April 1st, 2nd, and 3rd is the 11th Annual Meguiar's Del Mar Nationals Giant Car Show at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. The event features over 2000 Hot Rods, Customs, Classics, Muscle Cars & Trick Trucks, plus a Cars 4 Sale Corral and plenty of vendors and exhibitors. And if just looking isn't good enough you can bring your own car and try out your diving skills at the Goodguys Autocross. Event times are Fri 8am - 5pm, Sat 8am - 5pm and Sun 8am - 3pm. Some of the other shows and events during April is the return of the Twilight Cruise Night at the NHRA Museum in Pomona on Wed April 6th from 4pm- 8pm, this will begin their monthly cruise night held the first Wed of the month through Oct (excluding Sept during the L A County Fair run).
On Fri April 8 and Sat April 9 come out to the Long Beach Grand Prix street course for the Formula Drift 2011 Pro Championship.
Also the weekend of Fri April 8th - Sun April 10th experience the California Festival of Speed at the Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, the largest Porche event in the West. Featuring PCA Club Racing, PCA Enduro, Concours d' Elegance, Historical Cars of Interest - Porche Corrals, and free Autocross test drives with Porche instructors.
A truly thrilling event will be the 37th Annual Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach which will be held Fri April 15th - Sun April 17th, for all the details on this event go to www.dplb.com.
Now this event I will personally recommend, the Show and Go Downtown Riverside on Fri April 29th - Sun May 1st. I have attended this the last couple of years and it is a lot of fun. Event highlights are Wayne's Engine Cruise on Fri night from 5pm - 10pm, the Car Show from 7am - 5pm and features an open header cruise from 8am - 2pm and an open header contest from 3pm - 4pm. The event is located at 14th Street and Main Street in Downtown Riverside.
