March 18th Newsletter


     
  Hi Everyone,

So I hope everyone had a nice St Patrick's Day and if you've got any green beer left...DRINK IT!!! Have you gotten used to the time change yet? Not me, I'm loving the longer daylight but getting up in the morning is really challenging now. Well I've got some great stuff coming up for you so let's get right into it.

On March 25th - 27th, that's Fri, Sat, Sun, the Riverside International Automotive Museum presents Legends of Riverside III Racing Film Festival & Legends Gala, featuring 2011 Honoree Parnelli Jones, at 815 Marlborough in Riverside. On Fri the movies include "Legendary Jim Clark" at 1pm, "1987 IMS Race at RIR" at 2pm and "Haybales & Asphalt" at 3pm. On Sat celebrate 100 years of Indy with Indy Racing films and an Indy discussion panel. There will be a Gala dinner at 6:30 featuring Parnelli Jones and a video tribute to him at 7:30. And then on Sun films and forums about Racing Corvettes. For details and tickets go to www.legendsofriverside.com .

On Sat March 26th you should really try and make it out to the Rockabilly Festival at Pitzer College, 1050 N Mills Ave, Claremont from 10am - 5pm. This event features a car exhibition, live music, vendors, art & more. I've attended this one before and you can find pictures on our website from a previous show, this show will really take you back in time.

And now for all of you NASCAR fans, IT'S GO TIME in Fontana. We start with NASCAR Qualifying Day on Fri March 25th, parking lots open at 8am, General Admission price is $20 with Kids 12 and under Free and a Weekend Pit Pass (Fri-Sun) for $55. At 11am there will be a Tony Stewart Walk of Fame Induction at Gate 12. At 12pm the NSCS practice, at 1:40pm the NNS final practice and at 4:10pm the NSCA qualifying. On Sat March 26th is the NASCAR Royal Purple 300 at 2:30 PST, parking lots open at 7am, General Admission price is $30, Reserved Seating (rows 24-48) $50 and Kids 12 and under Free. At 10:30am there will be a Jimmie Johnson Walk of Fame Induction at Gate 12. And on Sun March 27th the main event, the NASCAR Auto Club 400 at 12:00 PST, parking lots open at 5am, seating as follows; Rows 44-48 $105, Rows 34-43 $95, Rows 24-33 $75, Rows 15-23 $55, and Turn1 Rows 1-23 $35. There will also be a NASCAR Hauler Parade on Thurs March 24th from 6pm - 7pm at Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario.

Now if you are looking for something to do today, please try and make it out to Norco High School for the 4th Annual Norco High School Blue Diamond Brigade Car Show, this show was originally planned to be held in February, but because of rain is was postponed twice so if we have good weather today I think we should show up just to admire this groups persistance. I'm thinking "sunshine thoughts" just for you BDB. Also Highland Elementary School in Norco will be holding their 15th Annual County Fair & Car Show on May 13th and they still have space available if you would like to show your car at their event you can contact me via email or you can call (909) 596-9146 and I will get you the details.

I'd also like to remind you that the 3rd Annual Sprint Boat Races are being held this weekend at Puddingstone Lake in San Dimas, this is a great way to spend an afternoon out in this wonderful Spring weather.
