Hi Everyone,
So we seem to be in full swing of "Back-to-School" madness, everywhere you look it's all about backpacks and lunch boxes, pencils and composition folders, but I say HEY!!! it's still Summer, what about the car shows??
Well have no fear, I've got some great ones coming up.
I'm going to start with a very important save-the-date coming in Sept. Dust off your poodle skirt, grease back your hair and drop a dime in the jukebox because it's that time of year, the 22nd Annual Route 66 Rendezvous in downtown San Bernardino, Sept 15th - Sept 18th. The event hours are Thurs and Fri 6pm - 10pm, Sat 10am - 9pm and Sun 10am - 4pm. The show will feature over 1,700 Classics, Customs, Trucks, Muscle Cars, and Corvettes and encompass 35 blocks in downtown.
Some of the shows highlights (besides the cars, of course) will be a neon lights contest on Fri night, on Sat there will be a Pinewood Derby by local Boy Scouts, an open header contest, and a model car contest. Some of the shows entertainment will include 50's icons Chuck Berry performing on Fri the 16th and Chubby Checker headlining on Sat the 17th, the Barenaked Ladies will be performing on Sun the 18th and The Fab Four (the Beatles cover band) will take the stage on Sat night the 17th, among many other bands. And don't miss "American Grafitti" star Paul Le Mat signing autographs during the event. This is an awesome good time, if you don't make it out to another show all year be sure not to miss this one.
Now, we've got a couple of local shows that are a lot of fun, on Sat Aug 27th is the 2nd Annual Bass Pro Shop Classic Car Show, come out to the show and then wonder inside Bass Pro Shop and loose yourself in the great outdoors. Also on Sat Aug 27th is the 9th Annual Corn Feed Run Car Show & Cruise in Chino from 8am - 3pm, the show will also include an open header contest from 1 - 2pm.
So even though our Summer is slowly winding down, we do have some very fun Autumn and Winter shows, including Halloween shows and many Christmas themed shows.
