Hi Everyone,
Well welcome September, and here go the temps rising again, looks like we might be in for an Indian Summer after all. I just hope it doesn't get out of control, I'm actually looking forward to Autumn and the cooler days it brings. Let's jump right in here with a "save-the-date" event, the NJBA will be hold their Liquid Quarter Mile Drag Boat Race on Sept 18th & 19th at Lake Elsinore, qualifying is on Sat starting at 8am and the finals will be held on Sun starting at 8am. Now for this coming weekend; on Sat Sept 11th the 20th Annual Street Rods Forever Car Show will be held on Myrtle Street in Old Town Monrovia from 9am - 3pm. The show is open to makes of Muscle Cars, Street Machines, Rods and Customs, Antique Cars and Trucks. The city of Claremont will be holding their monthly Cruise Night at The Village Grille on Sat Sept 11th from 5pm - 8:30pm. This event is located at 148 Yale Ave in downtown Claremont and will feature DJ ROCKY. If you've never gone to this event I would suggest checking it out, downtown Claremont has a lot of restaurants and shops and is a great spot to just take a leasurely walk. A weekend event that sounds just wonderful is the Coastline Car Classic presented by the Corona Del Mar Chamber of Commerce on Sat Sept 11th & Sun Sept 12th and will feature over 200 world-class motorcars. On Sat Sept 11th if the Coastline Motoring Road Rally from 7:30am - 1pm. This is the prelude to the Coastline Car Classic; this event motors through the scenic coastal and country back roads of Orange County. The rally begins at Big Corona Del Mar State Beach, travels along the coast, through the inland country roads and ends at the waters edge for lunch at the Bahia Corinthian Yacht Club. On Sun Sept 12th the Coastline Car Classic showcases the elegance, craftsmanship, and beauty of the most distinguished and unique autos in Southern California. The festivities also include live entertainment, food & drink, and unique vendor exhibits and will conclude with an awards ceremony emceed by Automotive Commentators Dave Kunz (KABC) and Art Gould (KPFK). On Sat Sept 11th is the 3rd Annual Rim Wrestling Car Show at Rim of the World High School, 27400 Hwy 18, Lake Arrowhead from 9am - 3pm. And for you race enthusiasts The Southern California Timing Associates will hold the Land Speed Racing at El Mirage dry lake bed which is 30 miles East of Antelope Valley. So here is quite a lot to choose from, but there are certainly some that are worth making a weekend out of. And of course if you have a show coming up that you would like us to list please email it to us and we'll get it out there. Also if you are in a club please contact us so we can put your clubs info on our website, we have a section dedicated to car clubs and their events.
