October 15th Newsletter


     
  Hi Everyone,

Well here we are, mid October, and it finally fells like Fall with the chill in the mornings and the leaves changing colors. And Halloween is right around the corner, when it's not unusual to see witches and pirates and princesses walking down your street. So between carving a Jack-O-Lantern and buy those huge bags of candy for the Halloween parties, here's some fun events for YOU. Let's start with a "save-the-date" show...On Sat Oct 30th will be the inaugural Vet's & Pet's Charity Car Show at Flo's Airport Cafe at the Chino Airport from 11:30am - 3:30pm, 50% of the proceeds from the show will go to the VFW Post 11546 and 50% will go to the West End Animal Shelter. There is no pre-registration required for this show, so if you are interested in participating set-up time is at 10am the day of the event. There will also be a doggie dress-up contest so break out your puppies most Divalicious or GQ outfit and let them strut their stuff. On Sat Oct 23rd is the 40th Annual Cucamonga Car Show at Frito Lay in Rancho Cucamonga on Archibald from 9am - 3pm and is to benefit Children's Diabetes. The show will feature Street Rods, Motorcycles, Low Riders, Trucks, Customs, Hot Rods, Bikes and Boats. On Sat Oct 23rd the Golden West Chevelle and El Caminos Car Club will present their Fall Harvest Cruise to benefit the Cable Airport Foundation and will be held at Cable Airport in Upland from 12pm - 4pm. Let's take a look at what we've got going on this weekend. On Sat Oct 23rd Cruisin Yucaipa Charity Car Show at Yucaipa Regional Park starting at 8am. The show is open to Classics, Hot Rods, Corvettes, Mods, Sleds, Camaros, and more and the will also feature live music, food, vendors, kids fun, and a silent auction to benefit Mourning Star Children's Grief Centers of the IE. On Sat Oct 23rd is the 3rd Annual Chili Cook-Off & Car Rally at the Palm Springs Air Museum starting at 9am. On Sat Oct 23rd will be the 6th Annual Legends Of Ascot at the Perris Auto Speedway. The day will start with a great bench lunch at 11am, where you could rub elbows with racing legends. It will continue at 2pm with an awards ceremony and the presentation of the 2010 Lifetime Achievement Award to Cary Agajanian, JC Agajanian Jr, and Chris Agajanian. And concluding at 6pm with USAC/CRA sprint car racing. There will be Vintage Race Cars on display throughout the day and the special guest for the day will be Parnelli Jones, the cost for this event will be $65 per person. On Sun Oct 24th the Early Ford V8 Club of America Baldy View Regional Group #88 will present their 25th Annual Memorial Park Car Show at Upland Memorial Park from 8am - 2pm. The show is open to all pre-1980 Cars, Trucks and Street Rods. On Sun Oct 24th the L A P D Central Traffic Division presents the 15th Annual Cops 4 Tots Car Show at the L A Police Academy, 188 N Academy Rd from 8am - 4pm and proceeds will go to benefit Children's Hospital L A & other children's charities. So there you go, the only problem now will be deciding which show(s) to go to. I do want to wish good luck to the Golden West Chevelle & El Caminos Club and the Early Ford V8 Club on their shows, you can check out both of these clubs on our website on the CLUBS page and you can go to the SHOW GALLERIES page under previous shows and see their events from last year. If you are in a club and would like to have you club listed on our site and post your events lease contact me and we will get you up there. Also if you are putting on a show please contact me so I can blast your event to everyone and also get flyers for our counter customers as well. And just a reminder as we all start to focus on the holidays, making our lists and checking them twice, starting Nov 1st THE SPEED SHOP will have gift certificates available in any denomination.
