Hi Everyone,
Well I hope you all had a fun Halloween, and that you made it through the night with no tricks. And just a reminder to all of you that we "fall back" on Saturday night Nov 6th, and our days will be shorter. I'd like to start out with a couple of "save-the-date" events. First I'd like to thank Jeremy Timmins for bring to my attention his event Auto Barrel Racing, it's a new form of racing that was created by professional stuntmen and uses many of the same techniques and skills that you see in car chases on TV and in the movies. They are holding an event on Sat Nov 20th at Hollywood Park, 1050 S Prairie Ave, Inglewood 90301, gates open at 5pm, with practice from 6pm - 8pm and qualifying begins at 8pm. Another event to mark your calendars for is the 13th Annual Cruisin' for the Holidays Car Show & Toy Drive in Old Town La Verne on Sat Nov 27th from 9am - 4pm. Please bring a new, unwrapped toy or sports equipment the day of the event, all donations go to the Spark Of Love toy drive and are distributed to needy children in La Verne, also bring the kids because Santa himself with be at the show. Now for the happenings with weekend, we'll start with the Applebee's monthly Car Show at 521 N McKinley in Corona on Sat Nov 13th from 3pm - 6pm, during the show the will have $3 Happy Hour drinks and $5 appetizers and will also feature music by DJ Dusty. The Fontana Classic Auto Expo has moved to Perris and will be on Sat Nov 13th from 6am - 2pm at the Lake Perris Fairgrounds, 18700 Lake Perris Dr. The Car Show features all Classics, Sport Cars, Street Rods, Hot Rods, Rat Rods, Muscle Cars, Off Road and Pre-1979 Collectors Cars. Now for all of you race fans, one of the most exciting events throughout the year in Pomona is here, the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Series at the Auto Club Raceway on Thurs Nov 11th thru Sun Nov 14th. The admission prices and times for this event are Thurs 8am - 7pm Adults $25, Juniors $10; Fri 7:30am -7pm Adults $30-$40, Juniors $10-$20; Sat 7:30am - 7pm Adults $53-$65, Juniors $12-$24; and Sun 7:30am - 4:30pm Adults $55-$65, Juniors $12-$24. Also special packages are Thurs - Sun the Top Eliminator Club Full Event Pass is $375 and Thurs - Sun the Spectator Full Event Pass is $135. On Sat Nov 13th the Mosiac Inland presents their Angel Tree Toy Drive Car Show at Cafe Mosaic, 5540 Schaefer in Chino from 10am - 4pm and will feature a children's play area and live entertainment, if you are interested in showing your car at this event the cost is $20 plus a new toy and you can enter the day of the event. On Sun Nov 14th the Tour de Wangers Show 'n' Shine will be held in Oceanside at The Wangers Collection, 4660 North Avenue 92506, and is open to American Performance Cars. Come out and celebrate the performance heritage of Detroit with timeless American Muscles Cars like Pontiac, Oldsmobile, Dodge, Buick, etc. So it should be pretty easy to find something that suits you taste this weekend. I am EXCITED to announce that THE SPEED SHOP has a YouTube channel where we will be displaying videos from some of the car shows that we attend, just go to our website, www.caeperformance.com and scroll down the HOME page to the YouTube icon and click on it, that will take you to our channel there you can choose a video to watch, our first video is from the Pumpkin Patch Car Show in LaVerne from Oct 30th. Also THE SPEED SHOP now has a Facebook and Myspace page so you can also follow us in those locations for instant updates. We are also pleased to announce that we have Gift Certificates available to make your Holiday shopping a little less stressful, and now we will also have "mobile Gift Certificates", what is that?? you ask.....we will have Gift Certificates available for purchase at the shows that we attend, so watch for us.
