June 18th Newsletter

  Hi Everyone,

I hope everyone is enjoying this early summer weather, it looks like the "June Gloom" didn't stick around for long..good. Well with 4th of July coming up this weekend we're alittle light on car shows, but here's what I've got for you. On Saturday July 3rd is City of Brea's 31st Annual County Fair & Car Show at Brea City Hall Park, with a pancake breakfast from 7am-10am and the car show from 9am-3pm. The show will include food and games booths, crafts, entertainment all day and is sure to be fun for the whole family. Saturday July 3rd will also be the 13th Annual Rods & Roses in downtown Carpinteria from 10am-3:30pm. The Grand Marshall will be Andy Grantalli "Mr Indy 500" and the show will feature American made pre-1980 Classic Cars, Motorcycles, Race Cars and an Antique Tractor display. There will be over 1000 autos and 1000's of flowers, the event will also have a kids area, food & crafts and plenty of family fun. And as a fun side note, the Carpinteria Independence Day Parade will follow the show at 5pm. On Saturday July 3rd will be the Old Pomona Hot Rod & Custom Car Show from 10am-7pm at Thomas Square in downtown Pomona. The show is open to 1965 and earlier traditional hot rods and customs, restored originals, early muscle cars, Bobber & Cafe, and motorcycles. I'd also like to ask if anyone is involved in or knows about an upcoming show (car show or boat event) please let us know about it so that I can get the shows info out to everyone. Also if you are in a car club we'd love to hear from you so we can add your club to our website and promote any events you may have coming up. Well, whether you are going to a car show, or maybe a BBQ at the beach, or a picnic in the park, or a get-together with family and friends in your backyard, or maybe taking in one of the many 4th of July fireworks shows, we here at THE SPEED SHOP would like to wish you a happy and safe Independence Day and HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA!!
