Hi Everyone,
So here we are, smack dab in the middle of summer, and I'm so happy that the temp has not gotten out of control, it's still pretty comfortable, sure makes it nicer to want to go to one of these great shows that are coming up. So I'll jump right in. For any of you who've got a little "speed demon" in you, you're gonna love this, on Sat July 17th the NHRA Street Legal Drags will be going on at the Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, the gates open at 6am and spectators are $10 and if you want to race your own car it's only $20. Now this next show sounds like a blast!!! The City of Glendale presents the 17th Annual Cruise Night Car Show and Street Party on Sat July 17th from 5:30pm-10:30pm. In the heart of Glendale on Brand Blvd. threr will be over 450 Pre-1979 Classic Cars and Trucks on display plus games and activities for the kids. Rock n' Roll legend Chubby Checker will headline this years entertainment, which will mark the 50th anniversary of Chubby Checkers #1 hit "THE TWIST" and in honor of that the city of Glendale will attempt to set a Guinness Book of World Records record by having the most people doing the twist during a given time, the current record is 1,691 set in April of 2004. Also set to perform is Surfin' Safari - the Ultimate Tribute to the Beach Boys and The Icons, and this years emcee will be Brian Beirne, MR ROCK N' ROLL, from KRTH radio. The Norco Bob's Big Boy will hold their Tractor Show on Sat July 17th from 10am-2pm, it will feature DJ Retro Rick and will have a 50/50 drawing and a pie walk. I've seen some pictures from previous shows at the Norco Big Boy and it looks like a lot of fun for the whole family, I would recommend checking this one out. On Sat July 17th the All-American Car Show XII will be held at the Westfield Plaza Camino Real in Carlsbad from 8am-2:30pm and is sponsored by The Mopar Club of San Diego. The show will include all 2 and 4 wheel vehicles, foreign and domestic, that personify the American spirit. The proceeds from this show will help support the USO San Diego and Homefront San Diego. On Sat July 17th the Surf City Car Show 2010 will be held at 7522 Slater Ave in Huntington Beach from 9am-1pm and is open to all Classics, Late Models, Exotics, Hot Rods, Street Rods, and Race Cars. This is a celebration of automobiles and those who enjoy them. The Snap-On tools display truck will be at the show. The Park N' Bark Classic Car Show will be held on Sat July 17th at the new Western Riverside Shelter, 6851 Van Buren Blvd, 92509, from 9am-1pm and will feature raffles, a kids bounce house, lots of vendors, food, a silent auction and pets adoptions. The proceeds from the show go to supporting the animals of Riverside County. Now this next show will probably be familiar to some of you out the, it's the MOONEYES Summer-Xmas Show Make Up Dry Event Show & Drag at the Toyota Speedway in Irwindale on Sun July 18th. The show is open to Hot Rods, Choppers and more and will feature live bands including Gamblers Mark, Hot Rod Trio and Dynotones. There will also be a live Pin-up Girl contest, live pinstriping demo by MOONEYES pinstriper Hiro "Wildman" Ishii and an art auction, 1/8 mile drags, AFX 16-car shoot out and cacklefest. American Graffiti original cast member Candy Clark "Debbie" will also be there in person. I'd also like to give you a "save-the-date", this one will be the San Dimas Sheriff's Booster Club Car Show on Sun July 25th in downtown San Dimas from 10am-3pm and the proceeds from this show go towards many local programs like the mountain rescuers and the mounted officers, I've been to this show in the past and it's truly one not to miss. Now I'd like to call your attention to the SHOW GALLERIES page of our website, if you click on the CAR SHOWS section and scroll to the bottom of the page you'll see a section called CUSTOMER SPOTLIGHT, this is an area that we like to give special recognition to our customers who have had their cars in shows and have received awards, we also have a spotlight for our customers who race their cars and also for our boat customers, so I'd like to encourage you to take part in this section and let us display pictures of you car along with the details of the show and your award. I'd also like to take this opportunity to thank each of our customers who have brought their cars, and boats, by our location so that we could get pictures and display them on our OUR CUSTOMERS page, we feel that we have the best customers and that you have the best cars so we are happy to show you off. We I plan on getting out there and enjoying this great Southern California weather at one or more of these great shows that we have coming up and I hope to see you out there.
