August 20th Newsletter

  Hi Everyone,

IT'S SO HOT!!! It seems every time I talk about how nice the weather is it heats up, so I figure if I talk about the heat it will cool down (reverse psychology), I hope it works. So let's see if we can find some shows to keep us cool. First I'll start with a show that I personally recommend, on Sat Aug 28th is Chino's 8th Annual Corn Feed Run Car Show & Cruise in downtown Chino from 8am - 3pm. This is a really fun show and it always gets some of the coolest cars I've seen, Pre-1972 cars and all motorcycles and also includes an open header contest. There are also food booths and vendors and music provided by DJ Gary, this is a great show for the whole family. On Sat Aug 28th the 4th Annual Charity Car Show presented by the Burbank Masonic Lodge at 406 Irving Dr from 10am - 3pm. This show is open to Hot Rods, Cool Customs, Antiques, and Classic Vehicles, and this years special feature will be the Drag Race Corral including a collection of historic, nostalgic drag race vehicles and nitromethane cackle cars. There will also be live music, vendors and a BBQ, and all proceeds will benefit Shriners Hospital for Children. On Sat Aug 28th the El Segundo Police Officers Association presents the 13th Annual El Segundo Main Street Car Show from 10am - 4pm. The show is open to all Pre-1975 custom classic street rods, cool daily drivers, antique sports cars, race cars, and special interest cars. On Sat Aug 28th will be the 2nd Annual Ventura County Christian School Car Show at 96 MacMIllan Ave from 10am - 4pm. The show will be open to Pre-1979 Classics and Modified Cars, and there will be food and vendors also. On Sun Aug 29th the 2nd Annual Grape Harvest Car Show will be held at Victoria Gardens in Rancho Cucamonga, on the South West corner of Day Creek from 10am - 4pm and this car show is held in conjunction with the 71st Grape Harvest Festival Aug 27 - Aug 29. The car show will be open to all Pre-1985 American made Rods, Customs, Classics, Muscle Cars, and Trucks and the festival will also include arts and crafts, wine tasting, grape stomping, entertainment and food. I would also like to recommend this show as a weekend event, we attended it last year and it was an afternoon of great food, wine and cars. Now who could ask for more than that? So I sure hope that you are able to get out and enjoy one of these great shows. The summer show season is winding down but then we transition into the Autumn and Winter shows, which will include the Annual Pumpkin Patch show in La Verne, the Old Skool Cruzers Holiday Car Show & Toy Drive (we will be a toy donation location for this show) and the very popular John Force Christmas show, among many others. And you never know, the red hair lady in front of you in line for a hot dog just might be me.
